I love the name Klara for my baby girl. My husband loves it as well. But our family members hate the name and I can't take the criticizm. I really want to name her Klara and Middle name Matea (meaning gift from God - as all my other kids have a name that means gift from God). Our family members love Matea. Which one do you guys prefer.

I think it's really up to what you and your husband like, not everyone else, even if they are family. I love the name Clara (spelled like this though) and Matea fits really well as a middle name. It's your kid, listen to your own instincts, your family will follow them eventually.

I never would have come up with that one, but I really like it a lot. I'd spell it Clara Matea. I like to spell names differently, but I don't think the K looks quite right with this name. It works good with the C. I'm not fond of the reverse either (Matea Klara). What about Matea Marie? I'd pick a few names you like and wait until the baby is born to decide. I had names picked for my children and I ended up choosing other names for two of my three children once they were born. When I looked at them, the names just didn't suit them. My oldest was going to be Maya and ended up Mikaela. My youngest was going to Alyssa and ended up Christina. If you and your husband like the name you've picked then I would go with it, and not worry about what your family thinks.

You should go with what you want not what the rest of your family want. I say if you like Klara Matea go with that.

Klara needs to be spelled Clara. I have never heard of Matea. (I know a Matteo.) Clara is a cute name. I am not a fan of Matea but it doesn't hurt to give children unusual middle names.
