You know as crazy as it seems, human beings are always finding someone to make fun of. It seems to be part of the trappings of being human. Believe it or not there is a group of southern African Americans who belong to a club or cliche called the "paper bag club" the skin of these people has to be light enough to be similar to a paper bag. I had a friend at college who was African-American, adopted by white people and he said because he didn't know ghetto slang that the African-Americans didn't want anything to do with him. Some of the African Americans said the exchange students from Africa thought they were superior to African Americans because the African Americans were descended from slaves and Europeans, so go figure, I guess everyone has to feel superior to someone, it's kind of sad, really.

We're still Africans! I'd say just ignorance to the acceptance of other cultures which as you say was once our own!

I'm married to an African from the Ivory Coast and he has many friends from all over Africa which have become my friends! I have learned a great deal of history from them and am continually amazed at their honesty, loyalty, community values and customs! An example of this is when one has a problem, it's everyone's problem so they start trying to resolve it as a community and I absolutely love that!

Tell your friends to look and learn!

Welcome to America.

We make fun of everybody, most politicians, but not ourselves very often.

The people hardest on "new" immigrants are old immigrants and it's being going on for centuries here..

Hey if you're not tough enough to take a bit of grief, how do you think you could ever be truly American and live in NYC???

Have you ever heard of this saying: "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak up and remove all doubt."
Judging by what you just told me, Thers's no doubt in my mind that your friends are definitely fools. They are racist because they are making fun of people because of the color of their skin.

Children are mad dumb! you are from Morocco correct? well you'd be exepted by some of my classmates b/c you are light.
