Yes, I never felt them in my first two pregnancies, only the last, but they were never really noticeable or painful even then.

Ive heard braxton hicks vary from woman to woman. Some women never get them. I honestly think the only reason I did during my pregnancy was because of the bumpy highways in Houston.
