I wouldn't let them commit suicide, but if they choose to place a DNR on their medical chart, I would understand, be supportive, and would be at their bedside holding their hand when they made that journey into another place and time.

No i would not let them die because it would make me feel like i was the one who killed them. And besides would you want to die or suffer for a little while?!If you let them live they will thank you later when they ar e better! But if that person very ill and their was nothing the docters could do then yes,i would let them die to be peacefull! And that person would know you was the one who let them have that peace!

I would not like pull a plug or anything. That would be considered murder, or helping them committ suicide, if I got caught. But I guess I would do my best to help limit that pain, and just be there. No one has the right to end someone's life, even if they ask. There is always the chance that a miracle might happen. Never let hope did. But if they are pulling their own plug, I would not stop them.

Yes, I would. If I was in their situation, I might very well ask the same thing. If you know you will only live for another six months, and those six months will be nothing but pain and suffering, I don't see what's wrong with wanting to end your own life.

If they are hooked up to machines that are "Living" for them I would ask that they be unplugged.
If they were alive without the machines and still had the capability to say they wanted to die.,..I would consult many Doctors and Religious Leaders before making a decision.
I am not sure I could do it, always hoping for the Miracle.
That does not even make sense to myself.
If I asked somebody to let ME Die, I would hope they would.

If it is a life support thing, that could be considered.
If there is a chance they can survive with all that pain and the physicians see promise that they can survive, there's nothing you could do about it unless you murdered them.
So, I would do everything I could to keep them alive if they was a prognosis of recovery with little physical or mental damage.

Awesome responsibility. I would not proactively let them die...would pray that their pain lessens and hope that whatever needs to happen to stop their suffering or help them recover happens.

I would do my best to honor their wishes. The family member could have filled out a living will before they became so ill. Then everyone involved would know their wishes.
