I heard many complaints about Superman Returns. Just wondering what do you all want from the Superman Returns sequel in 2008/2009.

I am hoping for more action and less set up in the next movie. I think from the talks I have already read about, that this is the idea for the sequel since they did already set up a lot of the story elements for future movies. I am hoping not to see Zod, but instead a different villain, maybe Bizaro or Metallo or even Doomsday. Someone that can go against Superman and actually hurt him without Kryptonite.
I also would like to see the Clark and Lois story sorted out. I feel that since they are married in Comics, the movies need to work towards this. Perhaps Superman can revel his true Identity to Lois in this sequel and move towards the wedding in a future movie.
Things I do not want to see: Richard Pryor, the Nuclear Man, or the Phantom Zone.
I think those have been done, and this movie should take a cue from the success of Batman Begins, start with new, fresh material to bring life into this movie.
Overall, I liked Superman Returns, and hope that anything that comes out after can move it towards a better movie.
I would like also a teaser of a future teamup between Batman and Superman as well. Perhaps a mention that Batman exists in this continuity.
One issue I have always had with the Superman movies and the Batman movies, they seem to isolated. That is where the Animated and other incarnations are a bit more imagininitive, to follow more along the lines of the Comics. It is a big world out there, and pleanty of Superheros to go around.
Oh yeah, we also need to find out more about the Son of Superman, what are his strengths and limits. And how will that change Lois and her current relationshipt.

I have some sentiment that they shouldn't have made another movie all all, without Christopher Reeve.
Here's a quick reference list of what another movie needs:
1. A different actor playing Supe - Rouch had no real personality that distinctly made Him Superman
2. Superman needs to be older and not look like He's 19
3. The plot has to be more compelling and make the audience care whether Lex Luthor is going to do whatever
4. Have things develop faster
5. Make an actual new story, problem, etc instead of just recycling scenes and stories from the first two movies to (see also a similar answer for Star Trek: Nemesis)
6 Have the movie live up to all the hype - this was supposed to be the grand return of Superman!
7. Have a Supeman who doesn't just mimic the original

I'd like to see Superman fight a villan with powers. The Lex with krypotine was fine for the 1st movie but the sequel should have a pretty stong enemy for Superman to contend with.

Let's have at least one Superman flik that gets away from Lex Luthor. We can find out in the one after next how he got off the island. But for now, let him fight another diabolical villian that has superpowers or an enemy that is also criminally insane.

I want to see Lois confronting Superman and asking him how she had his child. Since her memory was wiped in Superman II, she should have no idea she ever slept with him.

more originality, let him grow a set as CK, touch on Richards jealousy, especialy if he learns Jason is Superman's kid.
better villain,even if that just means Lex uses hsi money to build a quasi-legitimate empire, and gets a PR machine to make him look good. I always liked Billionaire Lex to Criminal Lex

as i didnt see the last one i cant say except that maybe they should knock this whole superman stuff on the head .............its becoming like startrek theres only so many people are prepared to take .............maybe he could join some sect and go weird( er) now thats a plot i would watch.............(not)

just good ol' superman fighting super villians! like spiderman! afterall wat we expect from seeing a comic turn movie is still the live actions that couldn't seen by looking at pictures. yeah i am dumb and who cares! if i want what's a guy's consience and what life is all about i'll go for Forrest Gump!
