would someone please explain to me how to configure my own lan of three computers to use broadband connection

i have got a broadband connection of 256 Kbps and want to build a lan consisting of total three comp sharing broadband. how to configure all those IPs and all. please help.

I got a router, then let it assign the IP addresses. Then, after installing the software the came with the router, the computers could find the router, and the router took care of the addressing.
