In a large city, yes...the idea is possible. In a small town, no...the idea is possible, but not good enough to produce decent income. BUT, the big BUT is: YOU MUST FOCUS ON A NICHE. For example, there was a small store like that in my little town, and the guy pretty much did it like this: He put up a sign that World of Warcraft could be played there, and so every geek and WOW player came to visit, played nearly all day, and socialized with the rest of the people. And he also sold Magic: The Gathering cards, collectible Batman/Etc. toys, and all sorts of things. The big thing you would have to make is set your store as not just a store, but as something else, maybe a club where competitions are made, or something. You need a niche, otherwise, all the other options and reason why it would fail will wipe you out.
Good luck. And if it doesn't make sense to you, don't do it yet.

If it's done near a school with no free access to Internet to the students it may be. A small community also, but remember always that some businesses offer free open internet in their buildings, that can be a problem

I don’t think that’s a good idea; because computers are considered to be very cheap in the US and most people who know how to use them, own a computer. You should look for something that is unique within your area. I always found out that food places always work in busy areas, like across from colleges, courts and business districts, etc. especially when you mark down your prices.
Good Luck

I doubt you would make much money..the internet cafes make money because the internet is free and they are promoting a different product....
you need to have the product first and the internet cafe as a selling point

well but of course! :) the Big question now is.. where is this location?? If you are in the city..its a good idea, however there are many internet cafe's already that might take away from your business. BUT if you are in a small community.. i think its an even greater location to open one up! Good luck

It is a good idea, but kinda hard because a lot of people have internet in the U.S. and it is cheap, or you can go to the library or several coffee shops have free wireless that you can hook up to. You'd diffenetly need to have good coffee or sandwiches or something.

great idea 20 years ago. today, it isn't such a good idea. way too much competition and the breakeven point is way to high. In other words, you have to sell a LOT of freakn coffee just to cover your expenses. Making a profit is another story to its own. There are other things you can do with the same start-up capital that give you a better return

It really depend on the location. If I was going to do that, I would set-up the company near a college.
