Well in general.....drag and drop can be used in many programs or in the windows environment itself. So if you are dragging a file or folder to a new location you must have a "target". If the target is another folder....then it must be visible to drop it....lets say you want to move a text file from the current folder you are in....and you want to move it outside of this folder into the next folder up....you can either open up a second windows explorer window to drop into....or you can drop it on the desktop and then move up one level to your target folder and drag it from the desktop back into the window...also if you want to drag multiple files or folders at the same time you can select several by these 3 methods:
1. Hold the ctr key and mouse click several items while continuing to hold the ctr button, then drag the whole selected group to a target location.
2. Select one item then hold the Shift key and select another item...all items between these items will be selected...then drag and drop.
3. You can drag a marquee around multiple items....by clicking and holding the left mouse button and dragging over the items you want; this draws a box around the items you are selecting....then drag and drop.

Yes you need to have two windows open to do this. Open the My Documents folder on your desktop, and the My Computer icon, then the C Drive icon. In the My Documents window click and hold on a file and drag it to the C drive then release the mouse. (Don't forget to move the file back so you can find it later.)

This is a reallly cool feature of Windows. If you left click and hold an item, then you can drag that item and put it somewhere else, including another window and then release the left mouse button. It will be moved to the new location.

Drag and Drop is when you click on something and keep your finger down on the button while moving the item to a different location on the screen, or to a different screen which is opened.

Say for instance that you want to move an icon on your desktop, so you would left click and hold the left mouse down, and then you could move it to a different spot on your desktop. Then when you move it to where you want it you would let go of the mouse button (drop)..Hope I explained it good enough...Good Luck..
