You should eat healthy food, but you should eat whenever you are hungry. You shouldn't worry about getting fat during this time. Your body is telling you it needs more! Your lucky for feeling hungry. When I was pregnant, I was so morning sick all the time, I had to try my hardest to keep the food I ate down.

:) I eat constantly, but I notice I don't eat huge meals. In fact my hubby says I pick at my food now. Then 5 minutes later I'm hungry again. Try healthy foods if you get to hungry such as carrots or something healthy that your body can stand. Most of the time the foods you are craving is things your body is telling you you need. I hate milk but have craved milk. You'll probably notice you don't eat as much at a meal setting. Your baby isn't lacking in nutrients in the first trimester. This is more your nutrition. Of course pay attention, most doctors only recommend 300-500 more calories than your daily intake. When you start to breast feed that goes up a bit. Most of the supply is for you. That is not saying the baby does not benefit from the nutrients. The reason for eating for two is because the baby tends to take the nutrients from your body. It is why prenatals and sometimes (when the doctors recommend) extra supplements. With that said an average overall pregnancy is anywhere from 15-35 pounds throughout the pregnancy. As I said pay attention to what you eat. You may be surprised at what is left on your plate. If the doctors are not telling you to slow down your eating you probably are not gaining to much. Or eating to much. :) Moms (even when you get married and not living there) tend to go by their own pregnancies and will tell you to do this and not do that.

I'm going through the same thing- you eat but you still feel hungry. It sometimes makes me want to cry. I've learned that it's actually the feeling of wanting to throw up but your body is not allowing itself too. With some pregnant women they will throw up at the sight of food- my doctor told me that feeling like you're always hungry is a sign of gestational diabetes. He told me the reason why you are feeling like this is cause your body is digesting and breaking down the food you eat faster, giving you a stomache ache and when you do throw up- it is most of the time liquids or bile.

I have the same problem, so my house is loaded with healthy snacks right now like. Stawberrys, carrot sticks, oranges, apples, trail mix, rasins. Well you get this picture. It really helps fight the hunger ( by the way, my doc said to eat five times a day anyway) and I don't worry about getting heavy cause I'm putting good stuff in my body. Now for meals its a completely different story. I pig out and you better watch your plate cause if you aren't eating fast enough, I'll have your portion too. ;) Gotta feed that baby.

you're fine, eat when you are hungry. I went through the same thing in the beginning i would eat so much but still feel so hungry, it was a feeling like i hadnt ate anything in days! I would have to carry snacks everywhere i went it was so unbearable! I literally panicked everytime i was hungry it just made all my early symptoms worse! Eat up and dont worry, just make sure you are eating healthy things with the occasional treat ;)

Hey their, it's normal when you get hungry, especially if your pregnant. You won't get fat. You get hungry double cause your eating for yourself and also for your child. What you are going through it's absolutely normal don't worry girl. My sister had the same problem when she was pregnant. She thought she was going to get fat. But she never did. It's good when you eat right, cause that way your baby and you are in a good condition.

I was STARVING when I was pregnant. It was like I had the permanent munchies. I did not restrain myself with food - at all. I gained 68 lbs. I had a very healthy 9 lb baby (9.5 on the apgar after a 48 hour labor w/a c-section). But...it was a b*tch to lose. It took over 2 years to lose all the weight. My rule of thumb is to listen to your body. If you are hungry, bay all means eat! Try to make healthier food choices than I did. You do not *need* a banana split EVERY day:)

You are only hungry because you aren't eating enough. Aim for 2000 calories a day.

If you are hungry then eat. Take a vitamin supplement to ensure proper nutrition for you and your baby. And consider that it might be all in your mind that you are hungry all the time for the simple fact that you are pregnant.

My advice is to eat if your body is telling you to eat- and eat whatever it is that you're craving. Just be sure you aren't eating because you're bored- then you WILL gain lots of weight. You're only in your first trimester, so maybe the hunger is your body's way of helping you through your nausea.
... make sure you take your pre-natals, too!
