If you lead the legaue in ppg for part of the season, and then are injured for the rest, but nobody makes a higher average, will you still be crowned as scoring champion?

This is similar to Carmelo now, he still leads the league at 31ppg and has been suspended

Yes, the scoring title goes to whoever has the highest PPG. There is a limit on the number of games that must be played but Carmelo's suspension isn't long enough to take him out of the running. When he gets back, his scoring will go down now with his team healthier and with A.I. taken a lot of shots.

OK, I found this:

To be eligible for a scoring title, a player must appear in 70 games or score 1,400 points

To be eligible for the NBA scoring title a player must play in 70 games or score at least 1400 points. With Carmelo's suspension 70 games is obviously out of the question but 1400 points should not be too hard to reach so he will be eligible for the scoring title this year.

I believe it is true that the person will be the scoring champion even though he will be injured for the season if nobody makes a higher average.

There is a minimum amount of games that must be played to be able to win individual honors. I think it is 71 games.
