Mark Fitzpatrick, an expert on nuclear proliferation at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, said that it was clear that the sudden drive for nuclear expertise was to provide the Arabs with a “security hedge”.
“If Iran was not on the path to a nuclear weapons capability you would probably not see this sudden rush [in the Arab world],” he said.

So I guess this has more to do with Irans foreign policy doesn't it?

I believe that the world becomes more dangerous as the number of countries that have nuclear weapons expands. The likelihood that a country will eventually use one in a war increases. That's just plain old fashion sense.

The chances become even greater if a country is governed by a fanatical religious leadership that makes statements like, "Israel should be wiped off the planet ... erased from the map of the world" gets the bomb. They are more prone to actually use nukes in war because they will all go to Allah and be rewarded with 72 virgin girls. No big deal.

I feel no safe than if our own government were to spray chemicals over our skies (they are too) or ignite a nuclear bomb over our cities (and they will).
