Usually a trim package with heavier duty suspension or cosmetic upgrades that the consumer has requested in aftermarket sales.

Any one model will have 2 or 3 or more trim packages to enhance the value of the basic model. In most sport cars, a GS is Grand (or Gran) Sport. T usually is for touring. X is a versitle letter meaning whatever the model upgrades include as an ultimate package.

Well, for mitsubishi it does in fact mean "grand sport" if the source above is correct. But if you're looking at an eclipse, the gs means "goes slow."
