The other answers cover the typical issues.

How about this one: Are you sure they are all smoke detectors? You might have a Carbon Monoxide alarm tied in with those Smoke ones!

Usually the unit that is telling the others to sound off will be blinking its light in a different pattern than the others.

If they are more than say 10 or 12 years old, they may need to be replaced. Or so says the manufacturers. I'd get rid of any that give false alarms anyway and replace with a better one.

They don't like steamy showers, so don't mount them too close to the bathrooms.

Smok detectors also react to fumes-no smoke and no flame(fire) and I found that out when I used my self clean oven for the first time-had to open the windows -I could smell the fumes from the oven but saw no smoke. Perhaps there is a similar situation in your house -there is a reason that needs to be found-open your windows, doors and check your entire house also for any Not Usual Smells or check the outside to make sure something not burning outside . If after you have ventilated your house and still the smoke alarms do not shut off and there has been no break in the electricity-if wired alarms, then WITHOUT calling 911-call the regular firestation no nearest to you or the regular police no -explain your situation and they would be the ones MOst Knowledgeable on advising you .

If they are batteries, they probably new new ones. If they are hardwired into your electrical system, they may be detecting somerthing besides smoke. Some of the newer smoke detectors, particualrly those that are hard-wired into the electrical system also detect radon gas, or other nasty stuff. Air out the place.
Or...take the covers off of the smoke detectors and look inside. They may have some cobb webs or other debris inside that is blocking the sensors and making it think there is smoke.
Blow or brush them out with a soft duster.

Electric (hardwired) smoke detectors have a battery back up. When one detector goes, all of them go off, one of them has a low battery, it might be a good idea to change all of them at the same time. They usually last about five years.

Are your detectors just for smoke or is it a combo with the carbon monoxide too? Nevertheless I would be making a call the your local fire department and ask if they could come and check it out for security reasons. Better safe than sorry.

Do you have the toaster on? Sometimes the heat from my oven makes my smoke detectors go off.

Maybe it is detecting something you can't see. The sensor could be dusty; I think you can blow out the dust with "air in a can". Consider getting another smoke detector and see what it does.

I would say you have a poltergeist

tell them leave politely.

that you would appreciate it

if they don't leave you tell them or him or her you will get a preacher or Priest after them, that they need to leave right darn now, your hear?

take salt and pour it all around your home.

Good luck your going to need it, if there mean.

They all would not go off if it was something mechanical.or battery's, no way, your home is being visited

It could not be anything else.

If you haven't pulled out the battery's then do it

ow. it could be bugs in them making them do that, but you would have to have an infestation and you would know that.

Some smoke alarms are hard wired into the electrical system of the house. Have you checked your fuse box?
