does anyone know if you get your certification the last day of class or do you have to go to another type of meeting and pass a test after your classes are done

You have to be finger printed and registered with a background check due to 911 and the posibillities of useing a truck as a dirty bomb cost about 97 dollars. You also have to pass the hazardous materials test at the dmv.

Depends on the type of HAZMAT Certification you are talking about. I'm not sure about certifications for hauling hazardous materials but if you are talking about the ones for dealing with spills and accidents like in the fire dept they usually have someone from the State Fire Academy come and give a strict written and practical exam to become National Professional Qualified. You have to make a perfect score on the NPQ practical to become certified.
