I think a polite term is African- american. If they are a variety of different nationalities, just don't name people by their ethnicity. I'm Hispanic, Cherokee, German, Caucasian, and Bosque, and most people usually either call me Caucasian or Hispanic. Of course, white people aren't really offended by the term white because they may (MAY) have not been as disrespected as other ethnic backrounds have been. All I know is I prefer "Hispanic" over "Tannish" or " Miss Bosque, Cherokee, Caucasian, German, and Hispanic" lol

African American is the politically correct term. Or if they are more than one nationality they are bi-racial or multi-racial, but the right term is different for everyone. So to play it safe before talking to someone about their race, ask them what they prefer to be refered as.

The black race came to America from Africa so labled as African-Americian. Whites came from Europe..so labled Caucasian. Standards had to be set forth ..ex. on Drivers lic., job app. ect. These standards were excepeted by the Diff races of our country as to be politically correct.
