I got some cute tops, but I am really bad at laundry, and I know eventually they will end up in the dryer with everything else, instead of hung to dry. So one is 100% modal, and the other 100% tencel. They seem like they would be ok to me for the dryer, but they say hang to dry..., and again I am an idiot when it comes to laudry, do you think I could get away with putting them in the dryer, or would they shrink or ruin..?

In most cases you should follow the manufactures suggested laundry methods. They don't just pick a tag out of a hat and sew it into the garment, there are very specific methods used to determine how the item will withstand through different types of cleanings.

Commonly, items with hang dry only in them say this either because they will shrink, or the fabric will change in texture somehow. Or it could possibly be that it is decorated with something that does not withstand heat well.

I have a green laundry basket that I put my "special" wash clothing in. All the others in the house are white. That way I know as does everybody else in the house, that I had better be paying attention when washing the items in it.

If you did not pay alot of money of them, you could experiment with one and find out, but if you really like it, follow the directions.
