Well there is this 6th grader at my school she is a bit of a social climber she sucked up to all the 8th graders really early and got popular already in 6th grade. My friends hate her becuase she just so happened to try and use them as planks on her social ladder they did'nt go fot it an they hate her now. I gave her a chance and she is a 6th grader and everytime i said hi she would ask what is your name again? I ended up disliking her too. I find her a mini version of the 8th grade whores but way more annoying becuase she buys crap from hot hot topic. I reallu don't like her now that i know she is a slut and a poser. She spread a rumor about my good friend that is in the 6th grade with her. The rumor was that my friend had a crush on her. I just think she needs to be put in her place. She constantly annoys me with her squeaky high pitched voice. I want her to be put in her place but i dont want to be mean to her cos that would put me down to her level which to me is very low. Help???

don't sweat her. go on with your life, don't think about her. Its obvious that she has problems of her own and she thinks the way to fix them is to step on anyone to get higher on the social ladder. You have your own friends to 'hang' with and your should only worry about them and yourself. You shouldn't do or say anything to her as that will drop you to her level. And your friends shouldn't worry with what is said about her. Ya'll have a whole other school to mature in still, high school. Where people remember everything from junior high. There's lots of fun to be had in 6th grade. You don't want to start trying to worry with what anyone or everyone is nit-picking about of you!

you answered your own question dear. You said "I don't want to be mean to her because that would put me down to her level".

You must be strong in this situation. Continue to be tolerant and polite if you must interact with her. That way, there will be no cause for anyone to start rumours.

Peer pressure will only become a very serious issue if you let it. You sound like a fairly level headed young lady.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, in 6th grade she's still a little kid... and in 8th grade you're still a kid. You'll deal with people like her your whole life... just continue with what you're doing, you're better than her. Popularity isn't as important as it seems in school.

Dear God! It's sixth grade!!! Ask yourself, "In five years, will this matter?" In five years, everyone will hate her for using them, and she'll get what's coming to her.

Just ignore her. You don't have to be her friend. She's a loser, no matter how popular she is. Be yourself and it'll drive her nuts!

stay cool,

Mel

You don't need to do a thing. People like her have a tendancy to dig their own grave.

Just sit back and enjoy the show. Soon, no one will like her and she won't be smiling then. Watch.
