Human beings are "super intelligent"?!? That's debatable, at best! Humans constantly find new and inventive ways to kill each other, display racism, selfishness, hatred, ignorance, and bigotry, and willfully destroy their surroundings, have no regard for the future, live unsustainably, wage war, create pollution, and are easily suckered by corporate brainwashing and materialism. Sound pretty dumb to me.
It reminds me of an old blues song:
"The monkey speaks his mind!
Three monkeys sat on a coconut tree,
Discussing things as they are said to be.
Said one to the other, Now listen you two,
There is a certain rumor that can't be true.
That man descended from our noble race,
The very idea is a big disgrace.
No monkey ever deserted his wife,
Nor her baby and ruined her life.
Yeah..the monkey speaks his mind.
And you've never known a mother monk,
To leave her baby with others to bunk.
Nor pass them on one to another,
Till they scarcely knew who was their mother.
Yeah...the monkey speaks his mind.
And another thing you will never see,
A monkey build a fence around a coconut tree.
And let all the coconuts go to waste,
Forbidding all other monkeys to come and taste.
Now if I build a fence around this tree,
Starvation will cause you to steal from me.
Yeah..the monkey speaks his mind
Here is another thing a monkey won't do,
Go out at night and get in a stew,
Or use a gun, a club, or a knife,
To take another monkey's life!
Yes, man descended, the worthless bum,
But, my God, brothers from us he did not come!
Yeah..the monkey speaks his mind"

You seem to be looking at evolution as if it were progressive and intelligence a direction evolution went in, as a purpose. Our niche seemed to bring about this increase in intelligence that humans poses. My favorite theory states that human group interaction, the give and take of human social life, was most contributory to intelligence. The strategies that we developed to be successful as humans. Economic, sexual, technological, political, moral and a host of others. This is well supported by the cross cultural evidence of universal human behaviors. There are other theories, some not well supported, such as intelligence being the spandrels of mere skull size increase. Sharks and bugs are well adapted to their niches and have not experienced the same selective pressures as humans, in the particular. Intelligence is not a goal of evolutions to reach, but has a adaptive significance for humans. Though, we are not the only intelligent animal on this planet.

I guess the answer relies on your belief system, i myself belive that god created the earth and all of existence but in your case from what it sounds i would say that the only reason is because we have an adaptable brain and immune system, while animals and insects dont have an adaptable brain. All that aimals and insects know is mate, feed, kill, repeat while humans all we want to know is what life is about so in this race to find out why were here and how we came into existence, we forgot about other humans and let other country`s starve and "racially cleanse eachother". So back on subject the only reason we are the only supersmart race on earth is to outsmart eachother instead of just living like insects and animals. Which isn't bad but in my opinion that is why we are so smart. But how do i know im only a 13 year old

It's because we're the first. If this planet is going to have intelligent life, someone has to be first. Maybe there will be others in the future, and maybe there won't. If for example dolphins became intelligent before us primates, I'm sure a dolphin would post on Yahoo Answers and ask the same question.

Hi Jenna,
My short answer to this is that humans aren't that remarkable in other senses. We don't have ultra-smelling, ultra-hearing, ultra-vision, ultra-strength, or anything like that which other animals use to survive. As the earliest humans (homo erectus and those before it) didn't have anything superspecial like that the only way they could survive was to start using their heads. After making weapons, hunting, using fire, the wheel, ect we gradually became smarter. That's a very short and simple explanation but at least it is one.

Number one reply, Jenna, is that human beings are not the only intelligent species on earth. Dolphins, Orcas, Chimps, and Gorilla's (and many others) have highly defined cultures and communication.
Number two reply is that if we're so smart, why don't we use spell check when we don't know how to spell intelligent?

We shall come forth when the time is right. You will see that your "intelligence" is not as fine as you think. We shall make you all stop your insne wars and battles and teach you to live in peace. The time is near.

There is no way to predict this exactly, unless you can see into the future. I think humans evolved this way by chance. Lucky for us!
