where are you getting your facts from??
a. it IS a way the government can receive extra tax revenue
b. it only causes depression in some individuals, not all
c. it changes personality, people become more relaxed, lazy, easy-going, etc. overall, it relieves stress.
d. it does NOT make you look like a smack head, potsmokers would put on more weight if anything. it increases appetite.
e. it HASN'T been proven to lead to other drugs, the misconception is that pot is a gateway drug. it is not. people who abuse harder drugs HAVE tried pot, but there's an overwhelming amount of people who just stay with pot. it's kinda like saying, everyone who can walk WILL run, but not everyone will decide to keep running, you get me?
f. it has medical benefits, but the government has to figure out a way to tax/control it.
g. people can choose to add tobacco to their joints, but most people strictly smoke cannabis. yes pot smokers are at risk for lung cancer, only b/c you need to inhale and hold the smoke in your lungs, as opposed to cigarettes, where you quickly inhale and exhale.
h. it DOES NOT cause nausea, head aches may be wrongly described as being high. dizziness and disorientation are better descriptions for rookies.
i. it DOES have a distinct smell, other people will smell like weed
j. you need to process the coca leaf to get cocaine. you can easily grow your own pot stash and smoke it. conversely, you can grow coca leaves and brew it into a tea to get the same effects. but for powder cocaine, it needs to go through a chemical synthesis
you need to brush up on your facts, some were right, others were wrong.
countries like the States have problems with marijuana for different reasons. America's drug of choice is alcohol and cigarettes. there will be problems with pot, because demographically, tropical countries and inhabitants are more accustomed to it.
i've done a lot of drugs, and the only thing i can't control is alcohol. i've binged on most, some i'll never do again, but alcohol is amongst the most dangerous i've ever encountered.
you can drink yourself to death, smoke cigarettes until you need surgery, but with pot, you can't die from it. you can smoke pot all day, all night, for 41 days, and you would only get dumber. but i'd rather be dumb than dead.

A web site you want???
Why not go to a medical forum, speak with cancer patients and their Doctors about the nausea and headaches. Or my next door neighbor...who is 72 and smokes so she can keep food on her stomach...chemo is hell. She never so much as smoked a cigarette in her life.
Many drugs are illegal, having been made so without any FDA or medical studies, because of the broad powers of the DEA...Source....US Gov.
FACT...Aspirin would not pass the strict requirements of the FDA...GOOGLE it yourself.
I know lawyers, doctors and cops that smoke....Your retarded and ugly friends are clearly not the rule. Especially since the afore mentioned people have a neat and well dressed appearance.
Smell bad...hell Wal Mart sells deodorant and air freshener.
Sticking tobacco in?? Oh you mean a blunt... They use it as a means to hide the fact they are smoking weed. It's not required therefor your silly law is forcing them to do additional damage to their bodies.
Extra Tax collections?? A bad thing?? Not when I don't have to pay it :) I'll be exempt from this tax LOL I don't smoke weed.
It may lead to harder drugs...especially for those who are depressed and self medicating with pot to begin with. Much like the alcoholic.
THE PLANT ISSUE...you'll get no argument from me there.

To start, I don't smoke weed or use any other drug. But I do not believe the laws are having any positive effect on pot use. Its just too easy to get it, you can walk down the street and buy it in any major city. Decriminalizing it would have a number of positive effects with no negatives that I can see.
1. It would be a serious blow to organized crime since drugs are a cash cow for them.
2. By removing the organized crime groups from the picture the prices would drop substantially. Even with a huge tax added the price would still be far lower.
3. As a result of reduced prices minor crimes would be reduced because there would be less need to accumulate huge sums of money.
4. Taxes needed to pay for courts, police and jail space would be reduced. You could even use some of the tax money to fund better enforcement of violent crime laws.
5. Military organizations would not be needed to work in interdiction of weed and could focus on more dangerous drugs.
Personally, I do not believe it is my, yours or the government's place to tell a person what they can or cannot do to their own bodies. My body belongs to me, not you.

By and large robyoung3 is correct.
The most important factor regarding canabis as far as I am concerned is that as long as I enjoy smoking it I will carry on smoking it and there is nothing the law or anyone else can do to stop me so why waste time, effort and resources trying?
It does not make any sense.

Pot only leads to harder drugs because it is illegal. So when you buy it the person you are buying it from may have other things to sell. Cigarettes kill thousands of times more people that all illegal drug usage combined. Legalize it and tax it just as tobacco is. If you do not chose to participate OK. Cocaine is not taken in its natural form...Pot DOES have medical uses. As does morphine/heroin.

Willie Nelson has been smoking for about 40 yrs. & he's
looking better than ever.
All I can say is, if you don't like it, don't smoke it & do yourself
a favor - stop worrying about what other people are doing.
There's a reason it's not legalized & it's not your health.
It's because no one wants to take the time to figure out how
to sell, package & tax the stuff.
Believe me, cigarettes & alcohol are ten times more
dangerous & are the cause of more health problems than
the people selling them are willing to admit.
Who is Jason?

Pot is a controversial subject.
You will never convince pot proponents (AKA potheads) that pot shouldn't be legal. The arguments of abuse, DUIs, long term effects and so on fall on deaf ears.
There are literally millions of people in this country who can't even use alcohol responsibly - we really don't need to legalize another drug.
And the tax argument was used to promote the repeal of prohibition - to the spin off "if alcohol were legalized and taxed, the government could eliminate all of the other taxes" - yeah, that really happened, eh?

Thats right.........God put it here for man to use although I have to agree that God didn't put it here to be abused either, but I don't want the government telling me if I have the right to use it or not.
The government didn't put it here and it should be our God given right to use all of the medicinal herbs provided by the earth.
BTW: tylenol is proven to build up toxins in the liver and the public was told it was safe to use everyday.......what a crock........my mother died from tylenol
