If there's no connection to internet or any other program to run it for me, how do I go about making my computer do tasks such as printing? Is there a program code that I am to type into command prompt? Or is it to be typed somewhere else. I know about visual basic but that is much like access for microsoft. I'm wondering how to make my pc perform simple tasks such as addition and division without aid of internet. And where do I type in the code to do it.

If I understand you right, you need an interpreter of some kind, like Python. You can type simple and complex tasks into it in real time. There used to be a think built into Microsoft OS's called qbasic, but I don't know if it's there anymore.

I think what you are asking is how to print a range (just certain pages) from a document. You do not need an Internet connection to do that.
I am assuming you are running Win XP - but other os's are similar.
Click your print button - when the print window comes up - click "print range" then put your page numbers in.
A calculator has been included with Windows since the 98 addition.

For caluclations, use the Windows Calculator. It's under Accessories in the Start Menu.

I'm not sure what you mean by printing or if you just need a work processor. You can use Wordpad, also under the Accessories folder.

Calculator is easy. Start>All Programs>Accessories.Calculator
and if you need to print something, the "Print" command is usually under the "File" menu of the program you are using.
