I spilled soda on my laptop, but thankfully nothing is seriously wrong except the fact that the keyboard is sticky, and a small region is mildly dysfunctional(for example, it types "qwe" for q,w, and e). Are there any ways to clean it? By the way, my laptop is HP Pavillion ze4904us, and I have yet to discover a way to remove the keys or keyboard.

Use a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol to clean the keys and the spaces between them.

I actually did that twice this year on my keyboard. Now mine is not a laptop so I'm not sure if there is a huge difference but the very first thing I did was wipe it super good and try to get in between the keys. I actually used a thin, narrow nail file and wrapped paper towel around it, then stuck in between each row of keys and ran it back and forth to get in between the keys down to the bottom. Also, on a regular keyboard (again, not sure if it's the same as a laptop) the only thing that really helped clean it out completely is that you can just pop the keys off, wipe it down real good with a cleaner and then replace the keys.

1. Shut the laptop down and remove the battery.
2. Use 3M Electronics cleaner which is a light foam that evaporates.
3. Lightly spray the foam on the keyboard and wait about 30 seconds before wiping.

Most laptop keyboards are easy to remove you just have to watch out for the ribbon cable that is attached beneath. the screws that hold it to the laptop are normally on the bottom and range from 3-4 screws.

The ideal thing would be to remove the keyboard and turn it on its side so that the contaminents run out.

If it was not a lap top then I was going to say that I've had success putting the key board in the dishwasher and it still actually worked (which I did not expect it to) the only thing coming to mind is a bunch of Q-tips and come alcohol and just try to de-sticky your keyboard.
You could plug in low voltage external keyboard into it and just by-pass that mess. You might be able to remove the keyboard but it might be tricky. I had the same thing happen to mine and I never cleaned it, therefore it fomented and started growing all kinds of nasties. Anyway, best of luck.

Very carefully use a butter knife to pry off the keys one by one and clean each of them with soap and water. then use a Q tip or other small soft object and an electronics grade cleaner from radio shack to clean the board under the keys. Dry the keys with a blow dryer and snap them back in. I've done this several times to both of my laptops.

I am in the cleaning business and here is our secret!
Try this cleaning cloth. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $3 bucks a piece. I have ordered them and use them on everything, especially cleaning windows and clean mirrors. They are made out of tiny fibers. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. Use em over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!
I even waxed my car with it! I am sold on this ...I encourage you to try it out.

I read this a few times on the net an dwill have to test it out myself someday,......place it in the dishwasher, without detergent, and later, let it dry out completely. Bizarre, I know, but I've always wanted to try it.
Oops, I see its a laptop, nevermind, my goof.
