Who cares what other people think? it doesn't matter, they're just sad and pathetic if they have nothing better to do than care about what music you're listening too. You live in a free country, just ignore them and listen to what you like.

As a fellow asian who lives (born/ raise) in the south (Birmingham) I would happily answer and defend ur position. But I notice how u easily stereotype black people for hip hop and r&b. Therefore ur question is funny because on the same plate u portray the ignorance of people's critical stereotyping of a dis-association of country music and asians while mentioning the association with black people and hip hop. Self - Hypocritical statement?!?!

Dude i listen to some country (only the popular ones) but I also listen to other music (like hip hop -- what u call black music??.kinda hypocritical to state) but anyways I'm an asian that lived in the good ole south (10years) and acquired the listening pleasures of country music. so I agree with "jo" and don't worry about the ridicule of anyone else.
Peace
Denny

That's stupid. Listen to what you want. I am not calling you stupid, just the people who think that. lol There is this one Asian guy who comes to our school every year for an assembly. It is amazing because he plays an acoustic guitar and country music and he has a really heavy accent. But, when he is singing, oh god, It's beautiful! He sounds exactly like George Strait. You can do anything you want and listen to any music. Don't worry, man!

I'm Asian and I like all kinds of music, including some country and southern rock. I didn't know there was a specific kind of music we're supposed to like. Let them think and say what they want. Keep listening to whatever you like! Don't let anybody change you.

Buckaroo Bonzai, is that you? Just kidding! You're doing fine - it's all about breaking the stereotypes so just keep on doing what you do. Nobody lives your life for ya, btw- i listen to varied music that revolves around hot guitar playing (cause i play also), so i like me some country pickin' now and then. Truth be told - i'm really a hard rock / metal guy , and one of my favorite bands is a Japanese band called LOUDNESS.....just wanted to add that...

Hey man, chill. Houston Texas texas pride here.
Im a Chinese Texan proud to be from texas that listens to country music too. It is weird that we like this kind of music but who cares. I also sing country music and I honestly don t care what people think. Although I am kinda scared about what people will think of me when I go to the opry this summer.
I hope they wont say anything bad like they did to you.

plus, its better than listening to that stuff they call "music"

Who cares what people think. It's their own damn fault they are so ignorant and shallow. Just be yourself and listen to what you want. I'm Asian and I love Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash. I love all types of music actually, but I listen to whatever makes me feel good. I don't think it's quite fair to make stereotypes based on what type of music people like to listen to.
