When random annoying losers call you "sweetheart" I guess its more of a southern thing but I cannot stand when people call me sweetheart.. GET A CLUE ITS CREEPY!! and i'm not your sweetheart!

Girl, I know what you're talking about! This dude came up to me and was like "Hey sweetheart, let's get drinks." I was like ewww you sicko you don't even know me and you are calling me sweetheart. I could be some freak with five million aliens at my house and you're calling me sweetheart? Ew. You are not sensitive, I feel the same way.

I'm Southern too, and most of the time it doesn't bother me because I'm used to it, I guess. However, there is a difference between doing it conversationally and doing it condescendingly. If, for example, I express an opinion and he laughs and says something like, "Oh, don't concern yourself with such things, sweetheat," then yes, it would bother me.

yah that bothers me. Guys in Geargia say it to me all the time when i first moved here from California almost every single guy called me Hon, or Sweetheart, Baby etc. etc. It creeped me out cuz in Cali they surely dont do that!

I usually don't mind it. I reckon its all in the delivery. But if the person calls me 'sweetheart' in the wrong tone I get nasty.

It is Creepy. I live in the South and used to work at a gas station, and a lot of drunks used to come in and call me that.

I hate it when another woman calls me hon or sweetie, sweetheart etc.

It wouldn't bother me. In the cold selfish world we currently live in - its not bad to show some positive emotion & kindness. Much better then being called f*****n b****h and other similar pleasanties.

We have this weird, geeky tech guy at work who really thinks he's a ladies man, and he is the only one that really bothers me when he calls me sweetie or "my lady" or some other such nonsense. Ewwwwww.....it really does creep me out!
