The NY Penn league is Class A baseball. Most of the players in the league are just out of college, in their early twentys.

On average the players earn about $2000 per month during the six month season. They also get a small per diem for meals when on road trips.

A few of them may have also received a signing bonus when the parent club first signed them. Amount of the bonus varies considerably based mostly on how high the player was selected in the amateur draft.
