I think you would have to send them to the snake with a slingshot for them to pay much attention to those moth balls. Other than making the area unpleasant for people I have never seen them do much repelling.

No, moth balls repel moths snakes actually like the smell of moth balls as it slightly resembles the musty smell of cellars or cool dark places. Constant moving and noises repells snakes, if you have mice and no cats you will have a hard time ridding yourself of the snakes. If they are in your house, they are birthing by the way so you will have multiple snakes although when mature they will venture outside on their own.

Snakes rely heavily on their sense of smell, using not only their nasal openings, but also their tongues to gather and decipher odors. Snake repellents work by interfering with this olfactory sense, causing confusion and disorientation. The snake will leave the area. Continued use of the repellent acts as a barrier to prevent their return.

My pest exterminator said that moth balls will repel snakes. He said to place them around the exterior of the house.

As far as I know, mothballs repel anything. We live in a trailer and my husband puts them under the length of the trailer to repel anything from ants and spiders to four-legged critters so I don't see why it wouldn't deter snakes. Good luck

Snakes come where there is a source of food. Eliminate the food source and the snakes will go away.

The common garden (garter snake) in more afraid of you than you are of it and will go to great lengths to keep out of your way. PLUS, it is the greatest nataural predator that you can have in your garden.
