RAM is just an extension for RealMedia metafile. It's a audio file created and saved by RealPlayer that uses a proprietary Real compression algorithm, it may contain audio data or may reference a streaming audio file online.

er..... RAM is Random Access Memory... where programs put extra needed files in order to operate effectively... they load data into RAM when you open the program and it is removed when you close the program... RAM chips are pretty cheap, easy to plug in....
A program may have asked you to locate a file in RAM... if you don't have enough (256 minimum these days), you made need to upgrade by adding another RAM chip into your computer...

Now I'm not to good with internal works but from what I know RAM is like your computers main database for what it needs to run properly. For as much as I know you can't necessarily buy more it just comes with the computer once you buy it. The only way you might be able to buy RAM memory is to take it to a local computer store( I say local because big stores like Best Buy will charge you big for even looking at it) and see what they say.
