Paypal serves as an intermediary between you and an online buyer or seller. Using Paypal protects your personal and financial information from being used fraudulently by others. If you make an online purchase and use Paypal to pay, the seller doesn't get any information like your credit card numbers or bank account information. I've used Paypal many times to both buy and sell, and I have had excellent experiences each and every time. It is indeed secure! The only problem I've had, and the problem isn't caused by Paypal, is that I get phishing emails, allegedly from Paypal, asking me to verify personal financial information. I just delete the thing, or forward it to Paypal and let them tell me whether they sent it.

Well you set up a account and then Paypal takes the money out of your bank account and puts it in a paypal account for the recipent. The paypal account is just like a bank account. I have a paypal debit card. Of course I haven't sold anything on ebay in a really long time. I think that paypal takes out a % from the seller. It is secure I have used it for years.

PayPal is a service that provides security for purchasing goods online. It does this by insuring your money and not your personal financial info goes to the merchant you buy from. It makes money from interest of what people hold in their accounts as well as charging small service fees. Purchases made through Paypal are insured up to 1000 dollars. I consider it very secure, I have never had any problems as of yet and I have had to deal with some problem buyers and sellers. Hope this helps you.

PayPal is as secure as anything gets. You register with them once, giving them a credit card number, and from then on, none of your card information goes out across the net. You use your e-mail name for all transactions, paying and receiving money. So protect your password.
Just remember never to open a link to PayPal in an e-mail. There are too many scammers out there trying to get your info. If Paypal sends you an e-mail with a link, then open a new browser window and then go to your account.

Paypal is a gigantic online checking account without a bank and big interest. Paypal's major investor is E-Bay. Yes it is secure because it's dealing with money so the government makes it secure for your safety. Hey I used Paypal to buy a palm tungsten e2 and got it without a problem.

You can rest assured that Paypal is as safe as the safest sites out there. It's tied directly into one of the largest sites on the internet - www.Ebay.com, and is used for millions of transactions per day. If it was unsafe, you would have heard about it by now and they would no longer be around.
To use Paypal, you sign up (free) and provide it with at least one "backup" funding source - a credit card or bank account information. Verified Paypal members have had their bank account information verified, which means Paypal has deposited a small amount in their account and then retrieved it back out. That lets Paypal know it's a valid account and many Ebay sellers will only deal with buyers who have verified Paypal accounts. Mine is verified if that adds to your confidence level.
Essentially, when you buy something; either at Ebay or any online site that accepts Paypal payments, Paypal pays for it either out of your Paypal balance if you have one, or out of your backup funding source if you have no balance or too small of one.
If you decided to start selling stuff on Ebay, you'd have better luck if you accepted Paypal payments as people feel comfortable paying with Paypal since they'll assist in times of dispute.

PayPal works because it holds all of your credit card info, and you transfer money just by telling someone your email, rather than giving them your credit card number, and PayPal does the transaction for you. Don't worry, PayPal is quite secure with all of your information.

You create an account, link it to a bank account or credit card and it lets you pay for things online and receive money for things you sell very conveniently. It works great and is very secure. They even have guarantees.

It's like online credit.
You just prove you have $ in the bank, give your acct info (to pay pal) and the $ gets transferred from your acct to the account of the person you wish to pay.
Yes, it is secure. Only pay pal has your bank info...no one else.

It is very secure. They use your checking acc. or a credit card. If you have a problem your item is insur. up to $1000. I would not do business on ebay with out it.
