conspiring to kill the president carries a life sentance, and trust me you will do LIFE w/o ever seeing the sun again.
If the conspirators suceed in killing the president, he will be tried as a murderer, and subject to laws, but most likely he would recieve the death penalty.
as far as treason goes, not too sure, but I dont think it carries the death penalty now like it did in the 50's

Treason according to the Constitution of the US is the only crime listed in there. The penalty for it is Death with no mitigating punishments. It is also immensely difficult to prove and I do not believe anyone in the US has ever been convicted of it with the possible exception of the Rosenbergs. I think you have to have 2 independent witnesses prove you were purposely trying to destroy the country or something like that. Sorry! Wish I knew more.

treason and conspiring to kill the president are capital offenses. i dont think that anyone has been executed for either crime in the last 50 years.

for treason i suppose jail, but for conspiring to kill the president is death
