what are some movies with really cool front credits? In my opinion, the 1995 movie The Jackal had the best intro. It was really cool with like, a timeline of the Cold War andcommunism and all that...the music was awesome too :) Anyone know a site where there is a video of that intro?

Cool question. Go back and check out these intros:

Matrix (just the whole villiage road show/Warner Bros. in Black & White with that great searing music)
Godzilla: the credits were expanding as if exposed to radio active material
Superman: the names in big bold letters flying through space.
Kill Bill: The special presentation / Shawscope logo.
Spider-man 2:loved how they turned the film into comics as if the comics were based on the film - brilliant

In my opinion, Monty Python and the Holy Grail definitly has the best opening credits ever. In addition to the unforgettable captions at the bottom of the screen, there're all sorts of jokes hidden in the credits themselves. I'm still catching new things in there, and I've watched that movie quite a few more times than is probably healthy.

Se7en - the eery Trent Reznor soundtrack, so many deep and meaningful biblical allusions, disturbing content which sets the tone of the film, references to the nature of Kevin Spacey's character and mindset.... amazing!!!
I took a film studies course and spent weeks analysing opening credits. It's amazing how much thought goes into them. It is an artwork in itself.
Catch Me If You Can also has a great opening credit sequence

I like The Prisoner of Azkhaban for end credits. All those little footprints - it cracks me up! Front credits, eh? Gotta think about that.

I would say Fight Club's "Gun in the mouth" was a great start. "Seven" also had a killer opener. Eerie.

Don't know of a site for The Jackal, though. Sooooorry.

Fahrenheit 451.
As the movie is about reading being outlawed...all the credits are read aloud

I'm no Star Wars geek, but I will say Star Wars. Mainly because of that big orchestra, you know it started when it plays.
