well me and my friend have been on this diet for a while now because we both want to lose 15 pounds. She's really small and she honestly doesn't need to. And today she told me she wanted to talk to me about something so when I got home I called her and she told me she's been throwing up stuff she's ate. I'm so worried and she told me not to tell anybody but i really want to because thats horrible.

Get your priorities and spelling straight.
Its bulimia- she is bulimic
You want to tell people- don't tell people for the gossip cred- thats horrible. ED's are diseases, and right now you need to help her- she trusted to tell you. Find her a support group before getting other people involved- there is a good one called proanorexia or famishment on livejournal, or there are ones in person, or hotlines to call. If she hasn't stopped throwing up by the spring, talk to her about it and maybe the school counselor or her parents. But don't tell anyone else- if she wants other people to know she will tell them.
But whatever you do, be supportive of her- always compliment her and be nice, and don't try and force food on her- that'll only make her resent you.

Bulimia is VERY serious and can be life threatening. Encourage her to stop purging and do tell her mother or another trusted adult right away. This is her life that's in danger...purging is NOT a proper diet aid.

"The health consequences of bulimia include:

Loss of vital minerals
Metabolic disturbances
Erosion and discoloration of tooth enamel from stomach acid
Tooth decay, gum disease, mouth ulcers
Inflamed glands resulting in a "chipmunk" or "moon" face
Impaired mental functioning
Lowered resistance to infections
Severe muscle spasms
Esophagus damage
Permanent organ damage
Heart attack
High incidence of drug and alcohol addiction
Co-occurrence of clinical depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder"

The best thing to do is tell her parent(s), because this is her life. If you don't, negative consequences can follow. You are not betraying your friendship with her, you are trying to save her.
