Did he look like he lived in the jungle???]
People need to realize that the American idol winner is not just the best singer, it's presentation, looks, singing, popularity,
Simon is just telling the truth, Would you go to see the jungle boy in concert????
Sad to say but ugly, weird people don't sell Cd's and the public votes them off quickly.
Until the people of the world stop placing so much on a person's looks rather than their ability, the beautiful people will always win.

Simon Cowell was completely out of line when he tore into that kid . It is quite obvious that the kid has something medical and/ or genetic going on that made him look like that.
Simon has a right to criticize a persons singing ability fine no problem and we all love his acerbic wit.
This time however he stepped over the line and abused somebody who has zero choice in the way he looked and could not fight back and Cowell does not have the right to do that.
Beating people up who cannot fight back ,by definition makes Cowell a bully and a coward.
Americans for the most part do not like bullies .
I guarantee that this issue is not over. Idol is either going to have to get Clowell to make a public apology ala Mel Gibson or pay off the kid to circumvent a law suit.
We shall soon see.

No I wasn't shocked, it's boring to hear sarcasm all the time from his mouth and none others. But this time a lot of people agree he got too personal. He could have just said, "Dude, you need to improve your appearance and no you can't sing !"
He reminds me of that lady from the show The Weakest Link that was replaced years ago, bet now she felt weak !
The winners will be winners no matter who the judges are. They have talents and will be noticed by any good judge. Looks can be improved, that's what plastic surgery is all about, and we know so many famous people do it too.

HELLO!! It's called REALITY TV.
He does it just so people will talk about. Then people will want to watch the show. Making the ratings go through the roof, hence leading to him having a larger paycheck.
Put me on TV, I'll make rude comments if I'm going to wind up with a hefty paycheck.
I wouldn't take half of what he says with a grain of salt. But that's just me.

I totally agree with you, Simon Cowell is my favorite judge because he tells it like it is. But yes this is a discrimination and you can't say something like that to a person like that ESPECIALLY ony national TV.

People shouldn't be shocked at what simon has to say. This is the 6th season people should know how he is by now.If people go on the show then they should be prepared for what he has to say.

He is a super fiscial jerkl, and his predictions are always wrong. He is hung up on looks., Sheesh, they should get three new judges. We need some new faces. Paula and Randy are a waste.

He is trying to get that shocked reaction on purpose. Frankly, I think he tells it like it is. He knows his stuff.

Why pick on someone for something they simply can't control? There are ways of telling people they didn't make it without being cruel.
