After i have sex my abdomin hurts or during sex sometimes it really hurts on my lower pelvic that i have to stop sometimes. The doctor said i have small lil cysts on my cervix and that is what is making me feel that way. Im worried though that i could have endometriosis? can that stop me from conceiving naturally although i already have a 7 year old son. Does endometriosis come as in your early years or does it just grow as you age?

thanks

Endometriosis is scar tissue that forms on the outside of the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and sometimes your intestines. Symptoms include abnormally heavy periods or cesation of menstruation, severe cramps, and irregular cycles. Cysts can aggravate this condition. You can have pain during intercourse as well. The sooner you see your doctor and get treated, the more chance you will have to conceive again. If you let it go, the scar tissue will eat away at the "fingers" on your fallopian tubes causing your egg to just be floating in your body and not go into the uterus; this is just one problem. And yes, it does get worse w/ age especially if untreated.

Endometriosis is a common health problem in women. It gets its name from the word endometrium, the tissue that lines the uterus (womb). In women with this problem, tissue that looks and acts like the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus in other areas. These areas can be called growths, tumors, implants, lesions, or nodules.

Most endometriosis is found:

on or under the ovaries
behind the uterus
on the tissues that hold the uterus in place
on the bowels or bladder

Symptoms of endometriosis include: Very painful menstrual cramps
Pain with periods that gets worse over time
Chronic pain in the lower back and pelvis
Pain during or after sex
Intestinal pain
Painful bowel movements or painful urination during menstrual periods
Heavy and/or long menstrual periods
Spotting or bleeding between periods
Infertility (not being able to get pregnant)
Fatigue

The average age of women with endometriosis is 27 years old. Most women do not have symptoms for the first two years of development. It can affect a pregnancy because tissue can back up into the fallopian tube, and cause scarring.

Go to www.webmd.com and read up on endometriosis. Usually it starts in adolescents but has been known to develop in females a little older. And many times when you have been pregnant it goes dormant for awhile.

Endometrium is the lining of the uterus. Medical science does not know exactly why pieces of that lining gets outside, though many think it is during the development of the fetus or genetic. As the endometrium builds in the uterus to handle a pregnancy, these small "tumors" or "chocolate cysts" grow. But until the uternus that expells the tissue during menses, this tissue has no where to go.

There are several treatments for endometriosis now including a medication called danozol. Make an appointment with a gyn who specializes in endometriosis.

Oh, and yes it can cause painful sexual intercourse. My doctor said that Marilyn Monroe had it.

I've had endometriosis since I was 15 years old. Generally, it occurs in women as they age, but can be seen in younger women as well. Endometriosis is a condition in which your uterine tissue migrates throughout your reproductive system, usually to your cervix. This tissue, like the lining of your uterus, is controlled by hormones and builds up and bleeds along with your cycle. It can definitely cause alot of pain during sex.

The damage that endometriosis can cause varies from woman to woman. Some women simply experience discomfort, in others, the condition can result in sterility. Ususally, your doctor will perform laporoscopic surgery to remove the endometriosis and biopsy it to confirm the diagnosis. However, its very likely to reoccur. I've had the surgery twice, and mine is back. Many older women end up having a hysterectomy. Its very important to stay on top of your symptoms and maintain regular check ups.

Oh, and by the way --
I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant now, and having this condition has caused some problems with this pregnancy ... but I have had a miscarriage before. The endometriosis has made my cervix weak so the weight of the baby's head has started to push it open before its time to deliver.

I anticipate your husband was once your first. You ought to discuss with a gyno. if you have not, only for a assess up and to make certain the whole thing is ordinary. Even should you have been a virgin earlier than your husband, there are genetic disorders and different disorders that can be inflicting you suffering. If it has simplest occurred a pair occasions, you may also simply be being used to the feeling and it'll quit, however I might nonetheless advocate going for a pap smear and a assess up together with your gyno. Good good fortune!
