In the early seventies Glam rock scene most rock stars were trying to be as outrageous as possible, wearing make up and being effeminate as possible was all part of that era. David Bowie admitted in an interview with Melody Maker magazine that he was Bi-sexual/gay, he knew what they wanted to hear and he knew exactly what he was doing, he was pushing the envelope that little bit further than his contemporaries, I remember being at school at the time and everyone was reading it and was in total shock that he had just come out and said it, you have to remember that no-one really came out and said things like that in those days, it was a shrewd business decision and it worked for him, adding to his mystery and his otherworldly appearance, yes I think he did mess around experimenting with the same sex in those drug fueled days, those were very weird times, but having followed his career over the years, he has most definitely shown that he is far more interested in the opposite sex than he is in men, in fact by 1979 he was increasingly embarrassed when being asked the same question in TV interviews, and often threatened to walk out on various interviews, 1971-2 he was eager to do and say whatever it took to further his career, but was really wanting to shag as many women as possible, so no he is not and never will be Gay, and has recently stated in a very brief reference to his sexuality that he does not even consider himself bi-sexual.
And you have to ask yourself, David Bowie being David Bowie, would he bother to deny if it were true.

"Bowie has been married twice, both times to females :-) He has also fathered a son (see Family), Duncan.
Bowie has said in interviews that he wasn't bi-sexual, he was "try-sexual" ("I'd try anything"). Certainly it appears that he experimented with bi-sexuality, particularly in the 1960s and 1970s.
However, it seems that he is now and has always been primarily a heterosexual male."

Bowie is Bisexual - and admitted it long before it was even a cool faddish thing to be so.

Earlier in his career he came out as bisexual, but it was widely thought to be for pubicity then, and he has since taken it back (so apparantly it was). That said, he's still pretty fabulous.

It's speculated that he used to be bisexual, but he has been (apparently happily) married to the model Iman for years.

You would think so...he wears more make-up than a woman sometimes. I think he was or is married to model Iman. Did you see him in Labrynth?

Believe it or not, he's actually married to Iman, a model.
Perhaps he's in denial?
