wash them off with a rag, leave outside to air out.
if that doens't work, you might just have to put them thru a wash in a dishwaser.

There is only 2 ways for the smell to go away... air them out for a very long time OR wash them with Dawn soap. Dawn soap is specifically designed to remove hydrocarbons (stuff like grease, oil and gasoline!)

hand cleaner will remove the gas and smell
cover the shoes with hand cleaner let sit over night in trash bag then throw them in the washer alone wash as you
normally would NO BLEACH

If it were me I would just get rid of them. That is a smell that sticks like glue.

TRY SOME LESTROIL IT IS A GREASE REMOVING LIQUID DETERGENT IT GENERALLY REMOVES OIL BASED STAINS AND IT'S ODORS. OR WASH THEM IN VANILLA ESSENCE, THAT USUALLY OVER POWERS MOST SMELLS.
