China is capable of achieving economic and military power to rival the United States. When will this balance of power shift and will there be a cold / hot war?

For the sake of the environment, the Chinese and the U.S. need to draft a formula for responsible economic growth. I think that may be the only "war" : industrialized nations versus the environment, and China and the U.S. are the two primary leading candidates.

I don't see a "cold war" or "stand-off" scenario arising between the two powers.

I'm guessing they will be on our side in the coming global conflict. Sure, they'd be willing to deal with Islamist extremists, but we have more money and technology, which are what China wants now.

Uh... I think it may have started today with the successful deployment of that Chinese "satellite killer" missile. China has been an economic powerhouse for awhile now.
