Does anyone have any tips to killing raam in gears of war?

I talked to my friend and he told me to stay behind the first block and keep nailing raam with headshots from my sniper rifle. But I emptied the entire gun and there was no bloody raam corpse. Does the krill flying around him act as a shield? Would blasts from my shot gun work better? And also how do I get close enough to him to kill him without getting killed by krill.

Just shoot him in the head with the scoped rifle when the krill are flying towards you or away from you. Do that a few times and he will die eventually.

General RAAM rules:
Stay in the light. KRYLL. KRYLL. KRYLL...
Stay AWAY from RAAM.
You can't Lancer-Saw him... He one-hit melee kills you.
Blind Fire. Your bed buddy in this fight.
The Trika (Aka Turret) is NOT worth running for.
Explosions/walking into darkness remove his Kryll Shield.
Dom [CPU] is not worth jack in this fight

All right, before I say anything... You're doing this alone, make sure you have
the following equipment: Long Shot, Torque Bow, 4x Grenades, Magnum.

When they start you off, DON'T MOVE. Just get down. Arm the Torque bow and aim
for RAAM's skull. As soon as you can, switch to the Long Shot and pop him in the
head. If you're lucky, you'll get one or two extra shots in. Repeat this until
he gets close.

...If he gets close, blind toss grenades at him. This will do something twofold.
One, it will remove the Kryll. Two, it will stagger him so that you can RUNAWAY.
I can't tell you how many people STAND THERE AND CONFRONT HIM.

Actually, im about to fight him on hardcore right now,
as for normal..? I found that getting on the heavy machine gun turrent takes him down quiet quickly, and most effortlessly.

i just shot at him untill he died you'll all ammo and weapons around as you can get, I dont really remember but i dont remember it being that hard, theres a ton more info on the fourms on xbox.com
