You can't. Your child/children need to eat and have a place to live and clothing on their backs.

As a man paying child support, you have become a non person, you are now a ATM machine, that cannot breakdown, but must pay this amount , regardless of your circumstances and if they can figure out a way to make you pay after your dead, they will do that too. You can kiss the next few years of your life GOOD-BYE, the only option you have is marry someone who has as many children as you, that way what you pay out the front door, will come back in the back door, as the child support she gets, lol

No, no matter what, you cease being human once you have to pay child support. And your ex does not have to show anything to prove the money is being spent on the child. But if you get a raise, or a job making more money than the last job, do not plan to enjoy the extra money, you get a raise, your ex gets a raise. And be prepared to be in debt until you die, because if your ex decides the kid(s) should go to an expensive college, you will be forced to pay for most of it, whether you can afford to or not.

Request the court to do a modification. One likely scenario is they will re-calculate the appropriate numbers based on what you would be earning if you were working full time at minimum wage.

If you got laid off and it was due to something beyond your control such as a plant closing and condition as in your town make it hard to get a job . you might go before a judge and get it reduced but I recommend getting another job fast as it adds up.

You shouldn't be able to because your child still needs food, clothing, an education, medical care, etc. but I think you can. Contact your court and have them modify what you are required to pay.
