my son received a ds lite for christmas. about two weeks later he went to turn it on & the screen flashed briefly & shut off. we tried charging it, but it will still not come on at all. i called nintendo & they said i could send it back to them, they would send me a new one, but i would have to give them my credit card information, in case nintendo feels we caused the damage. Anyone else have similar trouble with ds lite? Anyone else have to go through this with nintendo? Is it ok to give them my credit card info??

I actually had the same thing happen to me,
but i brought mine back to gamestop (retailer) and they
let me get the exact same one for free.

Honestly i couldnt see nintendo hording you for a few bucks,
they are usually pretty standup.. but if they determine misuse,
ie your son drumped it in the sink (water damage), or it has burn marks, you know typical misuse or any physical damage,
yeah they will not think twice in billing you the cost of the replacement parts.

If it was only two weeks I say bring it back to the place you bought it first. I personally own a ds lite and play it non stop and still have no problems with it. I presume it's safe to give them your credit card. they're probably just going to charge your for shipping.
