oil companies are making ALL-TIME RECORD PROFITS... and Republicans don't say:

"hey, maybe they should pay some taxes on it (after Bush basically dropped them all)"... they say "we can't tax them, because they won't pay it, instead they will just raise their prices to keep their profits high"

why don't Repubicans care that these companies clearly care more about money than America... the oil companies could CLEARLY AFFORD TO PAY THE TAXES... so that's not the issue...

they just won't, because they don't have too... Republicans will just blame it on everyone but those that actually should be paying their taxes and have the money to...

what ever happened to civic responsibility in business?

and should I just start passing the buck too?

the oil companies are getting a free lunch right now... and our national debt is paying for it... that's your kids...

I didn't say one word about feeling anything... only them being a responsible American company and paying their taxes... which they pay almost none now...

apparently a responsible American company is an oxymoron now days... and that's what's wrong with America...

singling out oil companies mainly because they had their taxes basically cut to nothing at a time of historic profit... that's a very unique and odd occurance...

did the gas prices drop, when their taxes were dropped? I don't remember that happening at the time? they are finally going down now though...

and the Republicans, because they cut the taxes to nothing and now are the major complainers that the dems actually want to start taxing the oil companies again...

Big businesses must not raise prices when they are generating so much income even when the price of crude oil goes up so that the people will not suffer particularly those who have meager salaries.

One has to expect that profits will go up for oil companies when their revenue grows also. Their ROI (return on Investment for liberals) is much lower than many other public companies. What about all those years when oil was $10 a barrel? Were you crying that they deserved tax cuts? No

The high cost of gas is because of environmental regulation. There are more blend requirements than states. States make a lot more per gallon than oil companies.

If your Democrats get their way, they will force the price of oil up by costing the oil companies more.

Since you have no idea what it takes to run a business, why would you care? You have no clue as to what you are talking about, but you sure have lots of opinions on it.

Hmmm! Good point! But 1-Why did you single out just the OIL companies? Doesn't this apply to MOST big businesses, too? 2- Why single out Republicans? Dems sold out unions and voted with Republicans FOR NAFTA during the Clinton administration. It was supposed to be great for us in the working class.

Have you ever ran a business? I have owned and operated two. Taxes that are paid for this business are added into the cost of the service. I do not pay taxes on my business, my customers do. It is an operating cost. I collect the taxes for the government. I also pay personal income tax.

WE as Americans must take some resonsibility for who we vote into power just as the Germans had to admit they might have made a mistake with giving power to Adolf Hitler. Think about what freedom and fair taxation means to you the next time you vote. Don't be afraid to write your congress person it does matter.
