Avoiding her would be my solution. I just quit talking to people like that. Life is short enough without some idiot making you wish you were dead so you didn't have to hear their voice anymore! If you have to be in the same place with her, I'd do what the other people are doing: turn away. If you really want her toshut up and leave you alone, just tell her. Tell her NO ONE believes her, and it's getting old. Tell her to get a new subject. There's no way that I've ever heard of to cut someone off without hurting their feelings, and to use an old, old phrase, can't make omelettes without breaking eggs!

You're worried about hurting her, which is very considerate, but I think you might be doing her a favor if you say her down and had a serious talk. Tell her what you've told us (in kind words, of course--but be candid) With any luck, she'll listen and maybe get her sh!t together, and she'll be better off, plus you won't have to deal with the prattling nonsense anymore.

You can't. It sounds like she never got the attention that she needed when she was a child. They say that usually when people make up stories they do so to get attention or to be noticed because something is lacking within. Other than her lies, is she a pretty decent person.

I had a friend like that a few years back....unfortunately, I ended up ending the relationship - she hurt her boyfriend with the lies and it got to be too much for everyone. It was the best decision I could've made. Good luck...

Yikes! Natalie, I think you need to go to a new school (I'm not stalking you, I just have a good memory for random things).
Have you asked her to introduce you to her boyfriend? I'm assuming that you think he is non-existent, correct me if I'm wrong, but if this is so that may give her pause for thought. Of course if she hasn't noticed that you are the only person who listens... Is there anyway that you can sublty change the conversation everytime she mentions "him".
She is definitely headed for an emotional jolt. You may need to be the friend to help her through it. Sorry.

Wow, she sounds like a nutjob! You really have to drop this girl, and quick! The next time she accosts you with her stupid stories, touch her gently on the arm and say, "I'm so sorry, I can't talk right now." Smile sweetly and leave. This way, eventually, she'll get the message, and you won't have insulted her. Life is too short to deal with kooks! Good luck!

ok, how is your son's developement in the different case? Does he 'talk', babble, sing nursery rhymes pay interest to you interpreting, play peek-a-boo? Does he smile, provide sturdy eye contact, imitate belongings you're saying? Edit: properly it truly is tremendous that he's not on the autistic spectrum. He appears like he's coming up nice socially. i imagine he's only sorting out the bounderies, they generally attempt this slightly later. you should only say ''NO you do not HIT'' and placed him down and walk away and get on along with your different initiatives, if he starts to really cry, %. him up back and if he hits you position him down and say ''NO HITTING'' and walk away back. he will realize that no longer hitting receives him extra interest and hitting receives him disregarded. he continues to be too youthful for Time-Out. do no longer hit or chew your toddler back ever, that teaches him this applies. as long as he doesn't get ANY interest for undesirable behaviour, he will study that it truly is incorrect.
