Anyone else? I've never seen anything more hypocritical. It's to a point where both parties disgust me thoroughly. Instead of doing what is best for the country BOTH parties go opposite of what the advasary party is for (no matter what). Worse then a bunch of animals.

Oh, I assure you it IS the parties. Notice how I said "far left" and "far right." Both of them are on extreme ends, boy do both sure know how to be hypocritical fools. Do you need me to cite some source.... cause I got plenty.....And it is looking to be a childish game of knee-jerk reactions to the other party.

Cut from the same cloth. Both parties are hopelessly lost and have no clue what the Constitution of this country means. The Libertarian party is as close to the founding fathers as we have. I would welcome any 3rd party at this point.

The "far left" is a tiny fraction of the political spectrum. Who's advocating nationalizing industry or pushing for a dictatorship of the proletariat in the US these days? There are hardy unions left in the country.

And both parties don't always knee jerk against the other party, for example the senate just passed an Ethics Bill 98 - 2.

Also, while I agree with a lot of libertarian principles, it is naive to believe they are even going to be a major force in politics -- the general public in this country isn't going to accept legalized drugs and prostitution for example.

I am a Independent so I vote for the man ( or woman) not the party.I dont care which party comes up with a good idear. I just wish both parties had america in mind. The country would be much better if both dems & repubs thought of us instead who can get the most votes.

You're right. It's easy to see, just from reading these boards, that it's become a case of "if you're not with me, then you're against me" There's a no compromise situation in Congress that is certainly not in the best interests of all Americans.
I don't know that libertarianism would be any different than what we have now, there'd just be fewer combatants in Congress. I think you'd have to have near 100% agreement throughout the country to get it to work, otherwise it sounds good.

then it isn't the party you have the problem with, it is the people involved with them.

everyone leans one way or the other, there is no such thing as true neutrality. you can come close, but the only thing that is truely unbiased, is the destructive forces of nature.

you associate with a party that fits most of your beliefs. when election time comes around, you research the guy in your party who will be on your ballot. if you don't him/her, you research the other canidate. then you choose the one you like the most.

without a few fringe-types in politics, we would see a trend toward one side of the spectrum or the other, without anything to pull it back, and balance it. regardless of how silly they look, both are necessary.

I have to agree with dinodino. i think libertarian has some great ideals, but i to, hardly see them being anything serious in politics. and with their ideals, would you want them to? when they become a serious party that is a threat to other partiues, wouldn't that be when corporations start buing out their canidates as well?? then the libertarians are stuck trying to form another party from the ground up.

Can't buy into the Libertarian ideal but, you are correct in you assessment. With the US national debt at point that could actually damage the world you would think politicians would start doing what they are paid to do.... Represent us!

Just another point for making term limits on all elected federal government employees. Buy the way, that's also the best way for Libertarians to get into the running big time.

Now if only the rest of the US could see the light. Libertarianism is a great philosophy but a weak political organization. If we could somehow turn that around, the American people might actually vote for us and end Republican and Democrat hypocrisy forever.

You're right. I don't like those anti-smoking, pro-drug use, tree huggers liberals as much as I don't like the bible-thumping, anti-gay, stuckup conservative. The Libertarian party is really the best way to go and it seems the only shining light in all of this darkness.

You hit the nail on the head.

I vote Republican because the far left scares the hell out of me - and I think they're taking over the Democratic party. But I'm really a conservative Libertarian.

I think all the extremists should be rounded up and tossed in a cage together - let 'em fight out their BS between themselves and the rest of us can get back to running the country.

Have a nice night!

To answer your question, I have an Artificial intelligence program that could ask a better question, I let the program crunch the numbers, and the answer is, you stand to close to your own values which is not very good. Reason, you do not understand the vast complex of life, which includes yourself. Some reading, and research would help you.
