What in Allah's name happened to those handy alerts we all worried about? Is this a yellow day or have they tossed all that out? Do we have any way of know what is going on? Certainly not from the newspapers, television and for goodness not radio. Huh?

I got stuck in the airport the other day because it had been risen to orange alert. So now, I dont wonder what happened. I just think it sucks that a few million people trying to fly are hampered because a few fanatics decided to use planes as bombs. I mean, how much tax payers money are being used in the name of preventing another terrorist event???? We could be using that money to provide food and medical care to our own citizens.
In a way, the terrorists have made a serious economic blow.
I say screw 'em - if they want to take down another plane, I'd be willing to gamble if it meant taking away that degree of control over our lives from them.
Just sayin'.....

The alert system has been set to Yellow ever since it was introduced. Granted, it has gone to red a few times, but it hasn't moved off of Yellow for a while now. Airports and New Organizations stopped reporting it because it just stayed at Yellow all the time. Either Nobody bothered to change it, or we're always at an Elevated threat to terrorism. For future reference, you will only see the Terror Alert System in front of you whenever it changes.

Uhm, there are no alerts because there is no threat to the US... guys, terrorists dont attack the US every day. It took the terrorists 3 times to bring down the World Trade Center... why are people so scared of their shadows? Our defenses and security are a lot better then the media wants to think they are... the same people who tell you our country is in danger of immediate threats are the same people who are afraid of their own shadows.. Theres a threat when we find a terrorist plot to attack US people... they RARELY go undetected by some sort of police force.. They breached our security once in the last 50 years... itll be a long time until they are smart enough to breach our security again. When the threat level rises, its usually just based on a gut feeling with little-to-no physical proof.. just being careful. If we are in yellow now its probably just because of that Miami inncident of 2 innocent people who just found saying "no" and moving on easier then saying yes, one in the back, and having the security check. Its over with. If its still yellow its probably because it hasnt been updated yet.

The color-coded terror warnings tell terrorists when the police are especially alert and when the police are relaxing a little. If you go to the airport, the color is posted next at the security entrance where TSA searches the passengers.

Probably ran out of colours to blind your senses with lol - english guy by the way, but we used to get high level alerts etc and nothing ever happened other than the London thing

They still have the alert system. I live in a military town.I dont know how to figure out what kind of day it is though. I know if you go on post you can ask the MP's and they know though.

I think everyone pretty much realized they were directly proportionate to Bush's standing in the polls. Favoribility dropped? Terror threat went up - at least the color did.

I hear that in the middle east a momma towl head has a trick to teaching her little ones on how to correctly put on their underwear. Its very simple she just tells them that the yellow stains go in the front and the brown stains should be in the back. Ha! Ha! now thats funny.
