When someone asked for my assistance, I cannot connect to his computer.Error message: Remote host name could not be resolved. But if I request the assistance, there is no problem for the other person to get into my computer. Does that mean the other person has not set her firewall to allow me into her computer?
HELP!

If the other person is using a router, yes, the port (3389) needs to be open and redirected to her computer's IP. You will need to have her email the help request to you - won't work on Messenger.

When you get the email, save the file attachment to your desktop. Edit the file with notepad, and replace her computer IP with the router IP. Save the file, and then double-click it to connect to her. She can easily tell you her router IP by going to http://whatismyipaddress.com/. Hope this helps!

I would wait for a few days... msn live mail is currently down and not working functionally. I have contacted MSN and they replied that many of the staff present are trying to fix the problem as fast as possible.

However is does sound as either your or the other persons firewall is set too high.

Probably has something to do with the router, or firewall configuration on the computer.
