Dont you think it's part of our creativity and mental ability to judge things and decide wheather it is right or wrong for us? Now if you think we should judge then dont you think we can never judge right because we dont know the other person's situation? Then what should we do?

I don't think that it's right to judge, persoally. There may be some truth to it being mental ability and creativity, but in the end, it's a choice. I'm not going to say that I have never judged nor will I say that I never judge (even now). I just try not to. I truely believe that most of us are just doing our very best most of the time. I know that nobody is perfect. That is why it is wrong to judge. Besides, you never know when someone is judging you. It doesn't feel too good when you are the one being judged.

We judge people all the time, and quite often we don't keep it to ourselves. Case in point, the War on Terror. We have judged the terrorists, and decided they are a danger to us and therefore they must be destroyed. That is a judgement. It may be universally agreed upon, but it is still a judgement. Another case is affirmative action, we have judged that women and minorities can't possibly be as qualified as white males so they must have a specific clause that dictates employers to hire a certain number of them. Judgement in action.

In all of life, it's a choice of words. Judge not, and you will not be judged. Assess, evaluate, measure out the pros and cons, brainstorm for ideas, never laugh at another's expense, nor stereotype others (despite all we read from ads), listen and then question appropriately. There will always be those who continue to judge us even before we speak. We can't win them all; some will still continue to live life with much guilt, judgement already against themselves, and not discern betw a wise choice of words. Words can kill and build. Choose wisely in your head.

There is a large difference between judging one's actions and judging a person. Which one are you talking about?

There is a danger in judging others, especially if you have not gone through the same situation.

It is better to judge yourself than to judge another person.

A happier situation will result from unconditional care for humanity.

Well of course you would want to discriminate between what is dangerous and what is safe, including people who are safe or dangerous. And of course you will have preferences for friends. Perhaps what I meant when I said "Judge not lest ye be judged" was more about projecting your own shortcomings onto others rather than owning up to them. For example, suppose you have a cruel streak but instead of acknowledging it, you disown it and project it onto others, thus never growing into a better person. As well, it is not good for us to condemn others when their actions are their own concern. By condemning them, we become less than compassionate.

We should never judge anyone, only God can judge us when it's our time. My grandmother always told me to treat people the way you want to be treated. I dont want to be judge so therefore I dont judge other people.

Wow, hmm, yes, this is a brain teaser. I would turn to more intelligent authorities than myself.

"Judge not lest ye be judged."
--The Bible (somewhere)

"On my worst day, I'm smarter than you on your best day."
--Judge Judy

"I am the law."
--Judge Dredd

Thanks for the question and welcome to Answers SonoMan. We need more answers like that. Yes, of course we make personal judgments daily; by the minute in some cases. But it's about being a better person and that thing about projecting your insecurities onto others, so as to make you only feel better. Acceptance is a very powerful tool.
