Is Kirk Hamet from Metallica gay?

There is rumour that one of the Metallica band members is gay. I think out of any of them it would be him, the rest are married and have kids. Is this true, or just a rumour?

Hmmm---I'd ask my son---the world's BIGGEST Metallica fan.......but he is in Iraq.
