spider veins are caused from a lot of standing, and pressure on the legs. to help prevent them you could try getting some Tedd stockings, which, all though they are not the most comfortable things in the world will help stop more to come.(if standing for long amounts of time is necessary to your lifestyle).
i think they have some kind of special concealer out there that you can use to hide them, and if you REALLY want them gone, you can go for Lazar surgery, which costs a lot.

IPL treatment works..its a pulsed light treatment. I have had this done although the really tiny ones particularly around the nose do tend to come back. I have only had it on my face and not on legs but am told it is extremely effective.

Laser treatments are not always effective. They only help a smaller percentage of patients. Go to a dermatologist and show them. They can give you the shot which is painful for a few days to a week, but will give you better results. My wife did this and it worked wonders.

Lazer treatments are the permenent way but the one's on my face I use a concealer and foundation- it helps them not be noticeable at least, my legs I am just getting them there and I pretend they aren't there!!
