Because people have the ability to lie, cheat, and kill even though we have a sense of moral. Animals cannot lie, cannot cheat, and kill to live and defend. People know that other people lie and cheat and we can't always be sure of what a person says to us. there is always a doubt about what someone is saying to you. But with animals, if your dog messes in the house while you are gone, you know it because he come sliding up to, waggin his tail, and rolling over, saying "please forgive me!" People talk back, yell, and push eachothers buttons just for the heck of it. Pets look you in the eye and 'smile' no matter what. And when you are mad at them, instead of snapping back and getting an attitude, they beg you to forgive them, they sulk, and whine, because they know you are mad and want that to change. Pets love us and don't judge us by what we wear (or don't wear), they don't question us on every little detail, they bask in any little attion we give them, making us feel like we are the world and more. Plus, anyone with a heart can see, millions of pets are 'put down' each year because they are unwanted. About 40% or more pets are killed each year because of overpopulation. 30% or more are beaten, murdered, and starved to death each year by people who just don't care, but won't give them away. That leaves only 30% or less of pets are actually in loving, lasting homes, where they are happy, and will die there in peace, instead of some ditch on the side of the road. If people treated each other like the 30% of the loved pets out there, this world would be a better place.

Pets treat you better than most people. Pets/animals are better natured and way more deserving of ones trust. People have more rights than pets do so I make it a point ot make sure my pets have more rights than people do in my life.

Some pets are cruelly tortured, maimed, killed and the abusers are not really 'punished'. Dogs sleep on the floor. Dogs have to eat off the floor. Millions of dogs and cats are put to death because there aren't enough people adopting them from shelters.

I'd say people are treated better.

I agree with you, people should treat pets a lot better. But i guess one of the common factors is pets cant communicate, sure they can bark, yelp, meow ect. but they cant talk. So people just assume they have no feelings.

Maybe because they don't talk back the same language.People are always thinking of money and it just makes them worry to much. How people think of them.Just look around the world money talks bullshit walks.I feel if we treat people as kind as we do with pets or any animal we would be better of today.

I like animals alot better than I do people. People talk back and not many are very loyal. Pets are the most loyal creature on earth, they deserve better treatment as far as I'm concerned.
