I have been told by several hair dressers that it is ok to dye your hair. But the color might not take b/c of the hormones that are flowing through your system. If you are not 100% sure, and you don't find the answer you are looking for, you can always call your nurse(ob dr) and ask them.

I was told by my OB/GYN that it was fine, just make sure you're in a well ventalated area. The dye may tingle your scalp a little more than usual, but that's normal.. Go with your instincts. There will always be pregnant police out there saying to not do anything..

It is not recommended.

I did it once through my pregnancy (at about 22 weeks), and my baby is fine. Make sure you are in a well ventilated area, and maybe stick with an ammonia-free dye.

I've dyed my hair twice, shaded it and highlighted it. Not all at the same time but over time. I am 26 weeks pregnant and my doctor said there is nothing wrong with it unless I inhale the smell.

i am a professional cosmetologist and i say you should ask your doctor first but, the hair color we use in salons is milder than the crap you can buy and do at home. also, it does NOT penetrate your scalp. if you feel comfortable doing it, i feel your baby would be perfectly fine. i colored my hair through 2 pregnancies and they were healthy babies.

also, if you have colored your hair at home, please do not keep this information from your stylist. if you do, the results will not be what you expected and you will have to spend even more time and money getting it fixed.

good luck!

It is probably ok once you are out of the first trimester when all the organs are forming. However, it is best if you use a hair color that has as few chemicals as possible, amonia-free and all that.

I asked my doctor this question when i was pregnant. she told me NO. Something to do with checials and stuff like that. that's also why we shouldn't clean with strong checials while we are pregnant too.
