Check out trade papers like Backstage. In NYC the libraries probably carry it and others like it...so you can browse them for free!

Backstage is your best bet, but really, just look at everything you can. Craig's List, the classified ads in any newspaper, and so on. The more listings you see, the more opportunities you have. Don't limit yourself. Be wise and be cautious, but don't cut off your resources.
I would strongly recommend Backstage.com - you get the listings a couple of days before the print comes out. It costs money, but it's one of the best investments a New York actor can make. Surely you can afford $11 per month. If you can't, then quit working at White Castle and get a temp job downtown. Never pay anyone ahead of time, and don't waste your time with other pay sites. Backstage.com is miles above the rest - I've found that aside from that one, all paysites are only as good as their free counterparts, so it makes no sense to pay. But if you think $11 per month for the best damn audition callboard on the east coast is out of the question, then you are really doing yourself a disservice.

Backstage.com is an online publication of the trade paper Backstage. Auditions are posted in the newspaper.
(I don't know if the online version is available on Thursday, take a look online and see if it is)

I recommend broadway.com and playbill.com under "casting and jobs." You're certain to find some good ones.
