There is not a set distance for younger kids as I observe rec basketball. It SHOULD be that foul shots can be taken from 10 to 12 feet and that a junior-size ball (one size down from a women's 28.5 ball) should be used. Let's not forget that kids that age should be playing on backboards adjustable to lower than 10 feet high.
More recreation sports leaders need to get on board with this idea to help kids have success in the game.

i think the distance of the foul line is 10 feet

they use a girls size regulation ball. and it is about 4-6 inches in front of the free throw line.
